Hiroki Okano
Hiroki Okano has spent four decades offering sound to some of the world's most sacred sites: the Pyramids of Giza, the Shanti Stupa in Ladakh, the ancient Noh stage of Tenkawa Shrine. He has hung thousands of wind bells near waterfalls and mountain ledges, letting the earth play them. His practice has a name: hōnō ensō, the offering of sound to a place. "Did sound not originally hold a power greater than words?" At Chapters: Kyoto, he arrives as Creative Director.
